Add a media release

  1. Log into CloudCannon, through apps.minderoo.org.

  2. In CloudCannon, navigate to Sites > Media Releases.

  3. In the side menu, under Content, click Media articles.

  4. All previously published and draft media articles will be shown in a tiled list. There are two types of content pieces – Media release or Statement. Click the β€œ+ Add” button on the top right to start with a blank page; or the three dots on any article and select β€œDuplicate”.

  5. In the left-hand pane, fill in the release details:
Title: this is the headline of the media release.
Description: This is typically the first paragraph of the media release. If it is very long, consider condensing it.
Author: Minderoo Foundation unless on behalf of a specific person.
Publish Date: Can be set to whatever, but note choosing a future date does not schedule the release.
Tags: Ideally 3-5 of the most relevant.
Type: Use Media release or Statement.

  6. In the right-hand pane, fill in the content of the media release. Basic editing options are available, such as bold, italic, bullet list, heading, etc. Do not include the first paragraph, as this is the Description.

  7. Click Save. In the dialogue box, fill out the details:
Commit Type: Typically Content but use Fix if you are updating a typo or similar.
Message: A short descriptive message that will make it clear what has changed, e.g. Add media release for Gaza IPC announcement or Correct spelling of Jo Smith’s name. Click Save selected.

  8. Give it a couple of minutes to build. Once the building notification has disappeared, click the kebab menu at top right and click Open URL. This will take you to the staging site. You can share this link for review or just check it is all correct. If you’re satisfied that it’s looking just how you want it to look on the live site, it is now ready for publishing.

  1. Navigate to the dashboard and click the Publish button towards the top left.
  2. The publish page will show you exactly what changes have been made. If there are updates available from the publish branch, make sure you click Update from Publish Branch then click Confirm in the popup before you go any further.
  3. Write a short but meaningful pull request message, e.g. Added Gaza media release. Click Create Pull Request.
